5.0 (6 reviews)

Blue Sky Fitness Supply is an authorized Golden Designs dealer offering premium saunas across all four heat technologies — full-spectrum infrared, FAR infrared, traditional steam, and infrared/steam hybrid — for fire stations, first-responder wellness rooms, athletic recovery centers, hotel fitness floors, and multi-generational home buyers. The lineup runs from the entry Reserve Edition Full-Spectrum series to the 8-person Catalonia FAR Infrared and the flagship Karlstad Hybrid — infrared cabins in 100% Grade A Canadian Hemlock, traditional-steam and outdoor models in Canadian Red Cedar — all with integrated red light therapy, Bluetooth audio, and a 5-year limited warranty. Whether you're rolling a sauna out across a multi-station fire department (Minneapolis FD installed across 5 of 19 stations) or building a backyard barrel-sauna recovery suite, our team specs the right capacity, electrical (15A 120V through 240V 40A), and install path. Five Golden Designs cabins spanning all four heat technologies, side by side — from the entry 1-person Reserve Edition Full-Spectrum Infrared to the flagship 6-person Karlstad Hybrid. Stepping up to the Monaco or Catalonia FAR Infrared gets you more capacity and deeper-penetrating FAR heat; moving to the Carinthia or Karlstad Hybrid adds a traditional steam stove alongside infrared, which is why their max temperature climbs to 190°F for true steam bathing. Golden Designs Sauna Questions Buyers Ask

Match the heat to how you want to feel. Infrared (full-spectrum or FAR) penetrates 1–1.5 inches into muscle tissue versus about 1/8 inch of surface heat, so sessions run warm-but-gentle at roughly 120°F. Traditional steam gives the classic high-heat Löyly experience, and hybrid puts both heat sources in one cabin.

Full-spectrum infrared (the Reserve Edition line, $3,999–$7,499) blends near, mid, and far wavelengths and is the daily-recovery pick — deep 1–1.5-inch heat penetration, an average 120°F cabin, and 1–3 person models that run on a standard 120V outlet. FAR infrared (Monaco 6-person, Catalonia 8-person) delivers the same penetrating far-wave heat scaled to larger family or facility groups. Traditional steam (the Andermatt, Osla, Bergen and other Nordic-named cabins) uses a Harvia-style stove and rocks for the intense, immediate high heat purists want.

Hybrid models (Carinthia, Toledo, Karlstad and the other Full Spectrum Infrared/Traditional Steam cabins) combine carbon infrared panels with a traditional stove in one room, so one user can do a low-temp infrared session while another takes a high-heat steam session — the most flexible option and the top of the Golden Designs range. If you are buying for one or two daily users, infrared is usually the right call; if two people want different session types, hybrid earns its premium. Tell us your room, your users, and your budget and we will point you to the exact model.

  • Full-spectrum infrared: 1–1.5 inch heat penetration, ~120°F, 120V on smaller models
  • FAR infrared: same deep far-wave heat scaled to 6–8 person cabins (Monaco, Catalonia)
  • Traditional steam: Harvia-style stove + rocks for classic high-heat Löyly
  • Hybrid: infrared panels AND a steam stove in one cabin — two session types, one footprint
  • Infrared penetrates ~12x deeper than traditional surface heat (1–1.5 inch vs ~1/8 inch)
  • Range spans $3,999 entry full-spectrum to $18,999 flagship hybrid

Golden Designs cabins run from 1-person up to 8-person. Bathrooms and bedroom corners take a 1–2 person infrared unit, basements suit 3–6 person cabins, and decks or pool houses fit the larger outdoor-rated 4–8 person models. Buy for the group size you actually use, not the maximum.

The honest sizing note first: a cabin rated for two is comfortable for one-to-two seated adults, and a real forum complaint across this category is buying a two-person unit that only truly fits one. Our lineup gives you room to size up — the Reserve Edition full-spectrum series runs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6-person indoor models, the Monaco FAR infrared seats 6, and the Catalonia FAR infrared seats 8. Traditional steam and hybrid cabins span 2–6 people across the Nordic-named range.

Fit the footprint to the space: a 1–2 person infrared cabin tucks into a master bath or closet on a standard 120V outlet, a 3–6 person cabin is the basement sweet spot, and the outdoor-rated cabins are built for a deck, patio, or pool house. Because these ship as freight-delivered crates, measure your doorways, stairwells, and the final placement before you order — send us your room dimensions and access path and we will confirm the model fits before anything ships.

  • Capacity range: 1-person up to the 8-person Catalonia FAR infrared
  • Reserve Edition full-spectrum offered in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6-person models
  • 1–2 person infrared fits a bathroom or closet on a 120V outlet
  • 3–6 person cabins are the basement sweet spot
  • A 2-person rating is comfortable for one-to-two seated adults — size up if in doubt
  • Send room + doorway dimensions and we confirm fit before shipping

Yes — a large part of the range is built specifically for outdoor use. Many traditional-steam and hybrid cabins are offered as Outdoor or Covered-Outdoor models in weather-suited Canadian Red Cedar or Pacific Cedar. The one rule: only place a cabin outside if that specific model is outdoor-rated, or you void coverage.

Golden Designs splits its catalog into indoor, covered-outdoor, and full-outdoor models. The traditional-steam and hybrid cabins built for the elements — the Arosa, Zurich, Klosters, Bergen, Kaarina, and the flagship Karlstad hybrid among them — use Canadian Red Cedar or Pacific Cedar, woods chosen for their natural resistance to moisture and temperature swings. Covered-outdoor models (the Andermatt, Hanko, Copenhagen and others) are rated for a porch, pergola, or overhang that shields them from direct rain and snow.

The infrared Reserve Edition full-spectrum line is indoor-only, so do not move one of those to a patio — outdoor exposure on a non-outdoor-rated cabin voids the warranty and is the single most common placement mistake. If you want a backyard, deck, or pool-house sauna, tell us the exposure (fully open, covered, or enclosed) and we will match you to a model actually rated for it and flag any weather-protection you should plan for.

  • Dedicated Outdoor and Covered-Outdoor models across the traditional-steam + hybrid range
  • Outdoor cabins built in Canadian Red Cedar or Pacific Cedar for weather resistance
  • Covered-outdoor models need an overhang shielding them from direct rain/snow
  • Reserve Edition full-spectrum infrared cabins are indoor-only
  • Placing a non-outdoor-rated cabin outside voids the warranty
  • Tell us your exposure and we match a correctly rated model

It scales with the model. The 1–2 person infrared cabins plug into a standard 120V 15-amp outlet with no electrician. Three-person cabins step up to 120V 20-amp, and the larger, hybrid, and traditional-steam cabins need a dedicated 240V 30- or 40-amp circuit run by a licensed electrician.

Here is the real ladder from our live model specs: the 1-person and 2-person Reserve Edition cabins run on a single 120V 15-amp outlet; the 3-person models want a 120V 20-amp circuit; the 4- and 6-person full-spectrum cabins use two 120V circuits; the Monaco FAR infrared uses two 120V 20-amp circuits; and every hybrid and traditional-steam cabin requires a dedicated 240V 30-amp or 40-amp hardwired circuit. Even on the plug-in 120V models, use a dedicated outlet — owners who share the circuit with a dryer or other load report tripped breakers.

If your space does not already have the right circuit, budget for a licensed electrician before delivery day — a new 240V run typically costs several hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on your panel distance. We flag the exact electrical requirement for your chosen model at quote time, not after the crate arrives, so the wiring is handled before the truck shows up.

  • 1–2 person infrared: standard 120V 15-amp outlet, no electrician
  • 3-person infrared: 120V 20-amp circuit
  • 4–6 person full-spectrum: two 120V circuits
  • Hybrid + traditional steam: dedicated 240V 30-amp or 40-amp hardwired circuit
  • Use a dedicated outlet even on 120V models — shared circuits trip breakers
  • We flag your model's exact requirement at quote time, before delivery

Roughly $20–$40 a month for about an hour of daily use, per the manufacturer's figures. Infrared cabins sit at the lower end because they run cooler (around 120°F average); traditional steam and hybrid models cost more to run because the stove reaches much higher heat.

The manufacturer documents operating cost at approximately $20–$40 per month for one hour of use per day. Where you land in that band depends on heat type and cabin size: an infrared full-spectrum or FAR cabin averages 120°F and draws less power, so it trends toward the low end, while a traditional-steam or hybrid cabin heats a stove and rocks to a much higher temperature and trends toward the high end. Session length and your local electricity rate move the number, but for most homes this is a modest monthly line item next to a gym membership.

Operating cost is separate from install cost. The 120V infrared models add nothing to your electrical bill beyond the outlet you already have; the 240V hybrid and traditional cabins carry the one-time electrician cost noted in the electrical question above. If you want a precise estimate, give us the model and your rough daily use and we will sketch the monthly run cost before you buy.

  • ~$20–$40 per month at about one hour of daily use (manufacturer figure)
  • Infrared cabins trend low — they average ~120°F
  • Traditional steam + hybrid trend higher — the stove reaches much greater heat
  • Your electricity rate and session length shift the exact number
  • Operating cost is separate from the one-time electrical install
  • Ask us for a run-cost estimate on your specific model

Infrared Golden Designs cabins average about 120°F and are session-ready in roughly 30–45 minutes. Traditional steam and hybrid cabins reach substantially higher heat through the stove. We set honest expectations here on purpose — heat is the thing buyers most often feel let down by.

Infrared heat works differently from a hot-rock steam room: instead of superheating the air, the panels emit far-infrared that penetrates 1–1.5 inches into your tissue, so an average cabin temperature near 120°F feels deeply warming without the searing air of a traditional room. Plan on roughly 30–45 minutes to reach operating temperature, and expect a warm, penetrating sweat rather than the instant blast of a stove sauna. Full-spectrum models add near and mid wavelengths for a bit more surface warmth than FAR-only cabins.

If you are a heat-seeker who wants the classic 170°F-plus Löyly experience, steer toward a traditional-steam or hybrid model — the Harvia-style stove and rocks deliver that intense high heat, and the hybrid cabins let you switch between the gentle infrared session and the hot steam session in the same room. Being straight about this up front matters: the most common category complaint is buying infrared while expecting steam-room heat. Tell us how you like to sweat and we will match the heat source to it.

  • Infrared cabins average ~120°F operating temperature
  • Session-ready in roughly 30–45 minutes
  • Infrared penetrates 1–1.5 inches into tissue rather than superheating the air
  • Full-spectrum adds near + mid wavelengths for more surface warmth than FAR-only
  • Want 170°F-plus classic heat? Choose traditional steam or hybrid
  • Hybrid cabins switch between gentle infrared and hot steam in one room

The premium features are built in, not upsold. Golden Designs cabins ship with chromotherapy lighting, integrated red light therapy on most models, Bluetooth audio with built-in speakers, and interior LED lighting — and the Reserve Edition full-spectrum line adds a Himalayan salt bar. The cabin price covers the complete assembly.

Every cabin arrives as a complete sauna: all wall, floor, and ceiling panels, the carbon infrared panels (or Harvia-style stove on traditional and hybrid models), the digital control panel, interior and exterior LED lighting, a tempered-glass door, ergonomic benches, Bluetooth audio with built-in speakers, chromotherapy color lighting, and integrated red light therapy on most models. The 2025 Reserve Edition full-spectrum cabins go further with a built-in Himalayan salt bar. Owners across this category single out the chromotherapy and red light as the features that make the cabin feel genuinely high-end rather than a bare box.

What is not baked into the cabin price are the true variables: electrical work on 240V models, optional white-glove residential delivery, professional install labor, and a few accessory upgrades. None of those are required to use the sauna — they are available when a project calls for them. If you are comparing two models on features, ask us for a side-by-side; the feature stack is consistent across the line, so the real decision is usually heat type and capacity.

  • Chromotherapy color lighting built into every cabin
  • Integrated red light therapy on most models
  • Bluetooth audio with built-in speakers
  • Reserve Edition full-spectrum adds a Himalayan salt bar
  • Tempered-glass door, ergonomic benches, digital controls, LED lighting included
  • Electrical, white-glove delivery, and install labor are the separate line items

Yes, and we publish the methodology rather than a bare tier name — because an EMF number means nothing without a testing distance. Golden Designs rates its full-spectrum and hybrid infrared cabins around 1 mG and its FAR infrared cabins around 2 mG, measured close to the heating element per the manufacturer's published method. Readings fall off sharply as you move away from the panel.

EMF (electromagnetic field) strength drops quickly with distance, so a claim like "low EMF" is only meaningful paired with where and how it was measured. The manufacturer's published methodology takes readings a few inches from the heating element — for reference, the family's full-spectrum panels are documented at under 2 mG at 2–3 inches from the element. Against that method, Golden Designs lists its full-spectrum and hybrid cabins at roughly 1 mG and its FAR infrared cabins at roughly 2 mG at that close-to-panel distance; where you actually sit on the bench, the reading is lower still. Traditional-steam cabins have no infrared panels at all, so infrared-panel EMF simply does not apply to them.

We frame it this way deliberately: measurements vary by distance from the heater, so we point to the manufacturer's published readings and their testing distance rather than marketing a tier label alone. If your purchase hinges on EMF — a wellness room, a clinic, a due-diligence review — ask us for the specific model's spec sheet and we will get you the tested figure with its measuring distance in writing rather than a vague reassurance.

  • Full-spectrum + hybrid cabins rated ~1 mG; FAR infrared cabins ~2 mG (measured 2–3 inches from the panel)
  • Readings taken close to the heating element (family method: <2 mG at 2–3 inches on full-spectrum)
  • EMF drops sharply with distance — the reading at the bench is lower
  • Traditional-steam cabins have no infrared panels, so panel EMF does not apply
  • We publish testing distance + methodology, not a tier name alone
  • Ask us for a specific model's tested figure and its measuring distance in writing

Golden Designs cabins carry ETL and CETL certification — independent, third-party safety verification of the heater and electrical system for the US and Canadian markets. On hybrid and traditional models, the Harvia-style heater carries its own UL 875 heater-safety documentation.

ETL and CETL are Intertek's third-party marks confirming the sauna's heater and electrical system were tested to recognized US (ETL) and Canadian (CETL) safety standards — not a self-declared claim but an outside lab's verification, which matters on a 120V or 240V appliance you sit inside. The interiors are built from 100% Grade A Canadian Hemlock (or Canadian Red Cedar and Pacific Cedar on the outdoor cabins), kiln-dried, with no plywood or MDF in the panel construction and no varnish or stain on the inner surfaces.

For hybrid and traditional-steam cabins, the Harvia-style stove carries UL 875 heater documentation, the standard covering electric sauna heaters. If you are a commercial or institutional buyer — a fire department, a multifamily wellness room, a clinic — and procurement needs specific documentation on file, tell us up front and we will pull the certification paperwork and material specs from the manufacturer before you commit.

  • ETL + CETL third-party safety certification (US + Canada) on the heater/electrical system
  • Harvia-style heaters carry UL 875 heater-safety documentation
  • Interiors: 100% Grade A Canadian Hemlock; outdoor cabins in Red Cedar / Pacific Cedar
  • Kiln-dried, no plywood or MDF, no varnish or stain on inner surfaces
  • Independent lab verification — not a self-declared safety claim
  • Commercial buyers: we pull the certification docs before you commit

Golden Designs cabins carry a 5-year limited warranty covering the cabin structure and electronics. On traditional-steam and hybrid models the stove is a separate component with its own 1-year term. Blue Sky registers the unit and files any claim with Golden Designs on your behalf.

On the infrared cabins (full-spectrum and FAR), the 5-year limited warranty covers the wood cabin structure and the electronics as a single term. On traditional-steam, hybrid, and outdoor cabins the same 5 years covers the wood structure and electronics, while the stove/heater is treated as a separate component with a 1-year term (accessories such as the sauna backrests run about 3 years). Golden Designs markets the policy under the name "Limited Lifetime Warranty," but its own warranty document defines that as 5 years on the wood structure — so the actionable number to plan around is 5 years, not a lifetime, and we say so plainly rather than blur it.

Coverage applies to the original purchaser and should be registered within 60 days of purchase, and it assumes normal indoor residential use (outdoor placement on a non-outdoor-rated cabin voids it). As an authorized Golden Designs dealer, Blue Sky registers your unit to your name at the point of sale so coverage is active from day one, and if you ever need a claim we file it with the manufacturer, push the replacement parts, and follow up until it is resolved — you are not chasing a support email alone.

  • 5-year limited warranty on the cabin structure + electronics (highest tier)
  • Traditional-steam / hybrid stove: separate 1-year term
  • Accessories such as backrests: about 3 years
  • Golden Designs brands it "Limited Lifetime" but its own doc defines that as 5 years on the structure
  • Original purchaser; register within 60 days; indoor residential use
  • Blue Sky registers your unit and files any claim on your behalf

Easier than most buyers fear, but plan for a helper. The cabins ship pre-fabricated and the panels click together with included cam locks in about 1–2 hours — owners consistently report finishing in around 90 minutes. You do need a second person to hold the walls while you connect them.

Golden Designs cabins are engineered for self-assembly: the wall, floor, and ceiling panels arrive pre-built and lock together with cam-lock hardware included in the crate, no special tools or contractor required. Real owners across this manufacturer's lines describe the job honestly — "the assembly was simple and straightforward, it took us less than an hour and a half" is a representative review, and the manufacturer's own guidance puts it at 1–2 hours. The one caveat every owner echoes is that it is a two-person job; the walls need a second set of hands to hold them upright while the panels are connected.

If you would rather not assemble it yourself, we can quote professional install labor as a separate line item on your order. And if you are a commercial buyer — a fire station, a multifamily amenity room — we can bundle freight, install, and tax onto a single purchase order so there is one document to process rather than three.

  • Ships pre-fabricated — panels click together with included cam locks
  • Assembly runs 1–2 hours; owners commonly finish in ~90 minutes
  • No special tools or contractor required
  • Plan for two people — the walls need a second set of hands
  • Prefer not to build it? We quote professional install as a line item
  • Commercial buyers: freight + install + tax bundled on one PO

Your sauna ships as a palletized crate via LTL freight with a liftgate included by default, so the driver lowers it to the ground at the curb. Delivery is curbside — inspect the crate and note any damage before you sign, and Blue Sky files the freight claim if anything arrived damaged. We coordinate the delivery window; you are not left to arrange a carrier.

A sauna cabin arrives on a pallet aboard an LTL freight truck, and the carrier calls 24–48 hours ahead to schedule a delivery window. Liftgate service is included by default in our freight price — that is the difference between a crate set down safely and one stranded on the truck — and if you have a loading dock or forklift we will quote it without the liftgate to save you the line item. The one habit that protects you: inspect the crate before the driver leaves, and write any visible damage on the delivery receipt. Signing a clean receipt makes a later damage claim far harder to win, so note first and sign second.

From there, damaged freight is our problem, not yours. You send us photos with your order number and we file the claim with the carrier and push the replacement parts — you are not bounced between manufacturer, dealer, and trucking company with no one owning it. Delivery is to the curb or nearest accessible point; if you want in-room placement, white-glove residential delivery is available by request and quoted separately, as is basement-access help for a tight stairwell or doorway.

  • Palletized LTL freight with liftgate included by default
  • Carrier calls 24–48 hours ahead to schedule a delivery window
  • Curbside / nearest-accessible-point delivery is standard
  • Inspect the crate and note any damage BEFORE you sign the receipt
  • Damaged freight — send photos + order number and Blue Sky files the claim
  • White-glove in-room delivery + basement-access help available by request, quoted separately

You call Blue Sky, and you reach a real advisor, not a runaround. As an authorized Golden Designs dealer we file the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf, push the replacement parts, and follow up until it is resolved. That single point of contact is the whole reason to buy from a dealer instead of a marketplace.

The loudest complaint in this category is the support black hole — buyers bounced between a big-box seller and the manufacturer, waiting weeks for a part via slow freight with no one owning the problem. That is exactly the gap an authorized dealer closes. Because Blue Sky is in the loop with the manufacturer's parts pipeline, a covered issue — a control panel fault at year two, a chromotherapy bulb at month six, a heater claim within its 5-year term — comes to us: you describe the symptom, we open the claim with Golden Designs, and we push the replacement parts and follow up until they arrive.

Marketplaces are competitive on price and convenience for everyday goods, but on a freight-shipped cabin that needs wiring and warranty registration, the dealer relationship is doing real work after the sale. You get a name and a direct line rather than a support-ticket queue — and for commercial accounts, the same advisor who spec'd your order stays your point of contact for service.

  • One point of contact: call Blue Sky, reach a real advisor by name
  • We open the claim with Golden Designs and push replacement parts
  • Covers the 5-year heater term and other in-warranty component issues
  • No bouncing between a big-box seller and the manufacturer
  • Authorized-dealer status keeps us in the manufacturer's parts pipeline
  • Commercial accounts keep the same advisor for post-sale service

Yes. Blue Sky is an authorized Golden Designs dealer set up for department and multi-unit orders, with freight included and a single purchase order covering cabin, freight, install, and tax. Fire departments and first-responder wellness programs are a segment we actively support — contact us for a department quote.

A number of fire departments have adopted sauna use as part of post-fire decontamination and wellness routines — departments including Minneapolis (which deployed across several of its stations) and St. Paul have equipped stations with the same residential commercial-grade cabins we carry, used in a post-fire decontamination protocol. We quote these as facility orders rather than pricing them unit by unit: send the model and quantity, or just describe the station and how it will be used, and we return multi-unit pricing with freight included.

One practical note we help departments navigate: FEMA AFG grants no longer cover saunas as eligible wellness equipment, so funding now runs through nonprofit foundations, state health partnerships, and manufacturer first-responder programs. As an authorized dealer we can point you to the current funding paths and bundle the whole order — cabin, freight, install, and tax — onto one PO so procurement has a single document to process. Contact our team for a department or multi-unit quote.

  • Department + multi-unit facility pricing, freight included
  • Single PO covers cabin, freight, install, and tax
  • Fire departments use the same commercial-grade cabins we carry (Minneapolis, St. Paul)
  • Sauna use supports departments’ post-fire decontamination and wellness routines
  • FEMA AFG grants no longer cover saunas — we help navigate current funding paths

About Golden Designs Saunas

Golden Designs positions itself as the sauna consultant experts and leaders in the infrared sauna industry, and the catalog earns that framing: 37 prefab cabins spanning four distinct heat technologies, one to eight person capacities, and indoor, outdoor, and covered-outdoor formats, priced from $3,999 to $18,999. Blue Sky Fitness Supply is an authorized Golden Designs dealer — we sell the full line, not a hand-picked upsell shelf, and we can put the right cabin in a bathroom, a basement recovery room, a backyard deck, or a multi-station facility.

This page is the brand hub for Golden Designs specifically; for the wider category — other brands, buying guides, and comparison content — start at all Saunas. New to the terminology? The sauna glossary defines every heat-tech, heater, and EMF term used below.

Four Heat Technologies — and Who Each One Fits

Golden Designs is one of the few brands that ships all four sauna heat technologies, and the right one depends on how you plan to use it:

  • Full-Spectrum Infrared — near, mid, and far infrared in one cabin; the most versatile choice and the entry point to the line (the Reserve Edition series starts at $3,999). Best for daily recovery and detox sessions in a spare room or basement.
  • FAR Infrared — far-infrared only, the gentlest radiant heat, and where the large-capacity showcases live (the 8-person Catalonia is a FAR cabin). Best for families and group wellness rooms that want low, comfortable heat.
  • Traditional Steam — a classic Harvia-heated hot-rock sauna in Canadian Red Cedar or Pacific Cedar, most of them outdoor or covered-outdoor. Best for the authentic high-heat, throw-water-on-the-rocks experience.
  • Hybrid Infrared/Steam — both systems in one cabin, including the flagship Karlstad at $18,999. Best when two people want two different sauna experiences without buying two rooms.

Far-infrared heat penetrates 1 to 1.5 inches into muscle tissue — roughly ten times deeper than the eighth-inch of skin a traditional steam sauna warms, which is why infrared sessions run cooler and shorter.

Grade A Canadian Hemlock, Kiln-Dried & Glue-Free

Golden Designs' infrared cabins are built from 100% Grade A Canadian Hemlock — kiln-dried, with no laminates and no toxic glues — a dense, dimensionally stable wood that holds up to repeated heat-and-cool cycling without warping. The traditional-steam and most outdoor cabins step up to Canadian Red Cedar or Pacific Cedar, naturally weather- and rot-resistant for exposed decks and patios. Construction is substantial: roughly 6mm wall panels on a 1.25-inch inner frame, and 5/16-inch tempered glass — among the thickest in the category.

Because wood species and thickness change by line, the exact material for any model is listed on its product page and defined in the glossary; full spec sheets are in the technical resources library.

Features, Certifications & the Truth About EMF

Every Golden Designs cabin is fully loaded rather than option-boxed: multi-color chromotherapy lighting, red-light therapy, Bluetooth audio, interior and exterior controls, and comfort seating are standard across the infrared line. That feature parity is why buyers cross-shop on heat tech and capacity, not on which extras survived the base price.

On EMF, we hold a hard line. Golden Designs engineers its infrared cabins for low electromagnetic-field exposure and publishes model-level readings — but a bare milligauss number means nothing on its own. EMF drops sharply with distance from the heating element, so a figure is only meaningful paired with the testing distance and body position at which it was measured. We quote the manufacturer's readings with their stated distances, never a marketing tier name alone; ask your advisor for a specific model's measured value and test distance before you buy.

A sauna is only as honest as its EMF numbers — and an EMF reading without a stated testing distance tells you nothing at all.

Safety is third-party verified: cabins are independently certified by Intertek to North American standards (the ETL and CETL marks), and the steam and hybrid models use Harvia heaters certified to UL 875, the North American standard for electric sauna heaters.

Warranty & How Service Actually Works

Golden Designs backs its saunas with a 5-year limited warranty. On the full-spectrum and FAR infrared cabins, that 5-year term covers the cabin structure and electronics. On the traditional-steam, hybrid, and outdoor cabins, the wood structure and electronics carry the same 5 years, with the stove and heater under their own manufacturer term (1 year on the stove per our current live coverage). We list the exact schedule for each model on its product page rather than blending the tiers into one headline; the glossary defines what each warranty tier actually covers, and the full documents live in the resources library.

How service works: tell us the issue and the affected part, and we work the manufacturer's warranty channel on your behalf to source the replacement and coordinate the fix — so a heater element or a control board is our phone call to chase, not yours.

Why Buy Golden Designs From Blue Sky

Buying from an authorized Golden Designs dealer matters most on the two things that go wrong after the sale: warranty standing and getting a real person when you have a question. Blue Sky assigns a named advisor to every quote — not a rotating support queue — who specs the right capacity, confirms the electrical (Golden Designs saunas run anywhere from 120V 15-amp plug-and-play up to 240V 40-amp hardwired), and flags what the install and delivery actually need.

We also deploy at facility scale: a Minneapolis fire department installed Golden Designs cabins across 5 of its 19 stations for first-responder recovery, and we handle the documentation, capacity planning, and freight that a multi-unit rollout requires. Outfitting a department, a hotel floor, or a recovery center? Request a bulk facility quote and an advisor will build the package.

One purchase order, one named advisor, and a partner that has already rolled Golden Designs cabins across a multi-station fire department.
