Description
Description
Heat-welded seams are what make a Balanced Motivate Class I floor behave like one continuous surface instead of a set of sheets laid side by side. This is the rod that closes those seams. Each spool carries 165 linear feet of colour-matched welding rod, and ECORE produces one rod for every Balanced Motivate Class I colourway so the finished weld line reads as part of the floor rather than a stripe across it. Key details:
- 165 linear feet per spool
- Colour-matched to your floor
- One spool per 165 LF of seam
- Welded with a hot-air gun
- Balanced Motivate C-I, 7 mm
- Sold individually, by colourway
- Made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

No. Welding is what makes the seam watertight and it is a condition of ECORE's warranty.
- Welding fuses rod and sheet into one piece
- Sealant leaves two bond lines that can fail
- Required for the floor's warranty to apply
- Blocks water, sweat and cleaning chemicals
- Standard practice for commercial sheet goods
A grooving tool, a hot-air welder with a speed nozzle, and a spatula knife with a trim plate.
- Grooving tool, consistent depth
- Hot-air welder with speed nozzle
- Spatula knife and trim plate
- Offcut of the same floor for test welds
- Set the welder from ECORE's instructions
Only with hot-air welding experience. A bad weld is difficult to correct after the fact.
- Narrow heat window, easy to under or over weld
- Trimming technique matters as much as welding
- A gouged weld must be routed out and redone
- The seam is the floor's waterproofing
- Ask us for an installer referral
After the adhesive has fully cured, never before. Welding into a green bond can lift the sheet edges.
- Lay, roll, then let the adhesive fully cure
- Groove and weld only after cure
- Heat over a green bond can lift seam edges
- Cure time varies by adhesive and conditions
- Hold the room at service temperature
It covers 165 linear feet of seam. Whether that finishes a room depends on the seam layout.
- 165 LF of seam per spool
- Seam length depends on sheet layout
- Fewer, longer runs use less rod
- Round up rather than risk running short
- A restarted weld is more visible
The same term as the floor it is welded into. ECORE publishes no separate weld rod term.
- Rod inherits the floor's warranty term
