The Metal collar uses a quick-lock mechanism: press it onto the bar sleeve and it engages, no lever to flip. This is a faster, more minimal motion than the PRO's lever-latch design, though it doesn't offer the same extra leverage. It's housed in an aircraft aluminum frame rather than resin, adding weight and rigidity.

Aluminum collars run heavier and hold up to more demanding daily use — a durability tradeoff for facilities that put collars through constant on/off cycles.

Composite resin collars (PRO, OLYMPIC, Sport, ONE) are lighter and more affordable, and work well for most home gyms and general commercial use. Metal collars like this one step up to aircraft aluminum, adding a small weight and price premium in exchange for extra durability — a better fit for facilities running collars through daily heavy use across many lifters, like CrossFit boxes or university weight rooms.
