23 ECORE Products for Commercial Gyms

A commercial gym isn't one floor — it's free-weight floor, cardio deck, functional and turf zone, Olympic-lift platform, group-fitness studio, and locker rooms, each with different impact and absorption requirements. These ECORE products map to those zones: drop-weight rated Performance lines for the platform, lighter Fit Collection rolls for the cardio deck, RageTurf for the functional sled track, and the cleaners and adhesives that keep the floor warranty-valid year over year — all vulcanized recycled-rubber manufactured in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, ASTM F2772 athletic-standard tested, and warranty-backed through Blue Sky Fitness Supply as your authorized ECORE dealer.

6 Reasons Gym Owners Choose ECORE

The line items franchisors, equipment-financing lenders, and insurance carriers verify before signing off on a flooring spec — authorized dealer credentialing, drop-weight performance standards, slip-fall friction ratings, and indoor-air-quality certification for member-occupied spaces.

8 FAQs Every Gym Owner Asks

Run two different specs across the floor — that's how franchisors and serious independents build it. The platform area in front of the rack takes 405+ lb cleans, snatches, and dropped deadlifts; the rest of the free-weight floor only sees dumbbells, kettlebells, and the occasional 315-lb pull. Spec'ing the whole floor at platform-grade thickness is wasted budget; spec'ing the platform at floor-grade thickness voids the warranty the first time someone misses a clean. The two underlying load standards: ASTM F970 for static load (rack uprights, weight-stack selectorized columns, plate trees) and ASTM F355 for G-Max impact attenuation (the Clegg-machine protocol behind ECORE's "up to 35.5% reduction in impact acceleration" on itsTRU products — the spec governing what the platform actually does on a missed clean).

This zone-by-zone approach is what franchisors require on the brand build-out spec, and it's how you keep the warranty valid on the platform without overpaying for the rest of the floor. Your Commercial Fitness Advisor will mark up the floor plan with the four zones before the quote locks.

  • Olympic-lift platform / heavy drops 405+ lb: Performance Beast Plus or Monster built up in a two-layer system
  • General free-weight floor / dumbbells / kettlebells / sub-405 lb: 14.5mm Performance Rally rolls
  • Cardio deck / treadmills / bikes / ellipticals: 8-9mm Basic Fit rolls or Rally at thinner gauge
  • Functional zone / sled track / turf area: RageTurf UltraTile over a rubber base

Yes — we work with franchise build-outs and regional chains across Anytime, Snap, Crunch, Planet, Orangetheory, F45, Barry's, and the MMA / CrossFit affiliate networks. Each franchise publishes a brand build-out spec that names a thickness, a color palette, and (in some cases) a logo inlay requirement.

Send us the franchise build-out PDF or spec sheet — your Commercial Fitness Advisor will cross-reference it to the right ECORE product line, get a free sample shipped via FedEx Ground (about a week) so your franchise development manager can approve the color match, and produce a quote that bundles flooring, equipment, freight, and install on a single PO. The single-PO bundle is the differentiator multi-unit operators ask for the second time around — less paperwork on your side, less paperwork on ours.

Standard ECORE rolls and tiles run 4-6 weeks lead time; custom color or water-jet-inlay orders run 5-7 weeks. Faster 1-3 day options exist on certain products depending on location, quantity, and color — your Commercial Fitness Advisor will check inventory the moment you tell us your grand-opening date. Lead estimates are listed on every quote alongside freight (LTL with liftgate included; we'll quote without liftgate if you have a forklift or dock to save you money) and install services on request as a separate line item.

The competitor failure mode that costs gym owners their grand-opening date is when the vendor reserves the right to slip — one major commercial-flooring competitor's policy reads "All equipment lead times and delivery dates given are approximates ONLY." That's not a commitment a gym owner with a signed lease, paid-up TI invoices, and a marketing campaign aimed at a grand-opening date can rely on. We put lead estimates on every quote so you can plan installer timing around our number, not a guess.

Most equipment-financing lenders and SBA 7(a) / 504 loan packages allow rubber flooring to be bundled with the fitness equipment as a single capital purchase, since the floor is the substrate the equipment requires to operate safely. We deliver the itemized vendor quote, W-9, EIN, Net-30 terms paperwork, and Made-in-USA / Buy American sourcing documentation your lender or SBA packager needs — and we put flooring, equipment, freight, and install on a single PO so the lender sees one bundled purchase, not three.

Buy American sourcing matters on SBA and many equipment-financing programs that reward (or require) domestic manufacturing. ECORE is manufactured in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, which clears that requirement cleanly. Tell us on the quote request whether this is SBA-funded, equipment-financed, or owner-capital, and your Commercial Fitness Advisor will format the quote to match what your lender wants to see.

ECORE has four Performance lines — Rally, Beast, Beast Plus, and Monster — all vulcanized recycled-rubber manufactured in Lancaster, PA, all tested to ASTM F2772. They differ by what level of impact each is warranted to handle, which matters because gym owners overspend on the wrong line all the time.

The most common commercial-gym build is Rally across the free-weight floor with a Beast Plus or Monster platform island in front of the rack. All four lines carry a 10-year prorated warranty. Tell your fitness expert your member mix (general fitness vs. CrossFit vs. Olympic lifting vs. powerlifting) and they'll spec the right combination.

  • Rally — 14.5mm. The right spec for the general free-weight floor in most commercial gyms. Handles dumbbells, kettlebells, and deadlifts up to 405 lb. Most-ordered line.
  • Beast — denser top layer than Fit Collection. Right when you want a thinner profile but heavier-drop tolerance than Rally would justify.
  • Beast Plus — explicitly warranted for heavy-drop Olympic lifting (405+ lb). Right call when the platform takes serious abuse from CrossFit or Olympic lifters.
  • Monster — two-layer system (rubber base + wear layer). Right for built-up Olympic-lift platforms under power racks. Most demanding spec, used in the most serious lifting facilities.

Yes — and this is the spec to get right before you sign the lease's vibration-transmission rider. Group-fitness studios above occupied space (lobby, retail tenant, downstairs studio) are the most common source of post-opening complaints from landlords and tenants below.

For HIIT, bootcamp, F45, and Orangetheory-style studios with jumping and plyometrics, we typically spec a thicker Performance line (14.5mm Rally or Beast Plus) over an ECORE acoustic underlayment (QTscu, lifetime warranty) — the underlayment handles structure-borne sound, the Performance line handles the impact. For yoga, pilates, and barre studios within the same gym footprint, a Motivate laminate over underlayment is the call. Send your fitness expert the floor plan and the lease's vibration spec; we'll work backwards to the right combination before you commit.

ECORE Performance lines support custom color blends and water-jet-cut inlaid logos at no minimum order — per-unit pricing drops as quantity increases. We can match your brand palette, inlay your gym's logo or franchise mark in the lobby or on the platform, and produce floor walk-arounds for build-out visualization. Standard-color rolls run 4-6 weeks; custom-color and water-jet-inlay runs 5-7 weeks.

Logo inlays need a clean vector file (.AI, .EPS, or .SVG). Send what you have — your Commercial Fitness Advisor will work the file through ECORE production and ship a free FedEx Ground sample to you or your franchise development manager (about a week) before the order locks. One thing to know up front: custom-color and custom-inlay orders are non-returnable, which is why we ship samples first and confirm the spec on paper before anyone signs the PO. Standard-color orders carry a 20% restocking fee on returns.

Full manufacturer warranty backing through Blue Sky Fitness Supply as your authorized ECORE Athletic dealer. If a claim comes up, you go to Blue Sky and we handle it with ECORE on your behalf — you don't get the "go direct to the manufacturer" runaround that plagues gym owners who buy commercial flooring from generic resellers and big-box e-commerce sites.

Warranty length by line: Performance Rally / Beast / Beast Plus / Monster / UltraTile carry a 10-year prorated warranty (years 1-6 at 100%, year 7 at 60%, year 8 at 40%, year 9 at 30%, year 10 at 20%). Performance Motivate carries 5 years. Acoustic underlayment (QTscu) is lifetime. Specific exclusions to know for a commercial gym: dropping a loaded barbell on a floor not spec'd for the load (run a Beast Plus or Monster platform), petroleum or solvent exposure, and outdoor exposure on indoor-rated product. Your Territory Sales Manager will flag exclusions specific to your build-out on the quote so there are no surprises two years in.

3 Pain Points for Gym Owners & Operators

Public reviews of commercial flooring vendors show consistent failure modes — missed lead times, restocking-fee disputes on vendor errors, and warranty deflection from non-authorized resellers. These are universal across every commercial flooring vertical we serve, and the failure modes authorized-dealer status protects against.

  • On lead times

“Placed an order 11/19 that was supposed to ship 11/24-12/8. As of 12/13, it still hasn't shipped. This is for a commercial gym and the installer has us on his books starting tomorrow 12/14… Our new gym opens Jan 1 and we still don't have flooring! I of course can't get anyone on the phone.”

  • On vendor mistakes

“They sent me the wrong product, gave me 'you have to pay for shipping and a 25 percent restocking fee' for THEIR mistake, said this was a courtesy, and then claimed a clearly wrong order confirmation… that they sent me was part of a banner ad.”

    Institutional buyer

  • On warranty disputes

“We started using the gym and noticed sharp metal pieces coming out of the flooring. We have pulled 19 twisted pieces of metal out of the flooring to date. They refuse to give me the manufacturer's name and after 2 months of back and forth, their solution was to tell me to apply a sealant. Laughable.”
